REAL LIFE WEDDINGS
Marija and Darko Cvitanovic
How did you meet?
We met at a fashion show. Marija was modeling and I was the photographer at the event. She stood out that's for sure.
Darko told me about a month in advance to keep the 25th February free. We had breakfast at Kangaroo Point and a lovely walk around Brisbane. He went down on one knee at Old Government House at QUT. This is where we first bumped into each other and soon become 'our spot.' We then had a picnic at the botanical gardens.
How long and how was planning your wedding?
We planned the wedding in a little over a year. It was stressful at times as we both were either working full time or in our final year of uni. The day creeps up fast. The last week is a bit hectic, but everything came together.
Vintage, romantic and royal or as our photographer would say sassy.(That does sound like something I would say.)
Unique or funny moments?
Taking photos with our bridal party was hilarious. Grant (our photographer) kept the boys in line...barely!
Do you have advice for other couples?
Focus on each other on the day and assign someone to sort out things that pop up. It worked for us. Also proof read the best man's speech.
